Three is Enough

I try from time to time give you some USEFUL intormation or tools. Not myself...I'm better at pointing you to others!

Here is how Todd Hunter describes TiE:
"Three is Enough Groups are a simple way to practice following God in the way of Jesus. They are not an end in themselves. Their focus is on God and others and the spiritual transformation such a focus brings.

As an important byproduct, they are an antidote to the massive image problem currently ascribed to Christians and Christianity. This unfortunate viewpoint keeps many people from entering life in the Kingdom as a follower of Jesus. Spiritual transformation into Christlikeness has always been the true goal of Christian faith—now it is utterly strategic.

Three is Enough Groups have a double meaning: they are three friends or colleagues doing three simple and humble activities.

Functioning in member’s most natural places of community – the workplace, school, retirement home, or at a local coffee shop, etc, - Three Is Enough Groups will go on the Journey Inward of spiritual transformation and the Journey Outward of serving others.

A TiE Group assists three people in any aspect of human endeavor to be, through the empowering presence of the Spirit, ambassadors of the Kingdom in the rhythms and routines of their actual current life. Participation in a TiE Group makes possible a couple crucial practices (re-practicing Christianity is preeminent goal of TiE Group): one’s own spiritual transformation and an others-oriented, servant-hearted engagement with others.

God’s purpose for us is that we become his cooperative friends, serving others—the least, the last, the broken and the missing—in the everyday affairs and rhythms of our lives. TiE Groups provide a simple way to do just that. Anyone can do it: three nurses, three investment bankers, three cops or firemen, three administrative assistants, etc. While it takes intention to start and some minimal facilitation along the way, it takes no special leadership for it to work and multiply.

A TiE Group is like spiritual training wheels—tracks to run on. It provides an imagination and structure for prayerfully paying attention to the people and events of our life and to the Spirit, for reading enriching material and serving others."
