NCM Mission, Values, Leadership positions at CBC, Rena R.

Mission Statement

The Mission of Northwest Collegiate Ministries is to foster Christian community on the campus of Columbia Basin College and to equip and encourage students to share Christ on our campus, in our community and beyond.

Vision Statement

NCM… helping students to be Christ like in and around their world.

Values Statement

1. Love the lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength.

o Have a strong personal relationship with the Lord Jesus
o Stand firm on the Bible – God’s true word
o Worship God in all you do

2. Love your neighbor as yourself.

o Show God’s love by serving others
o Share the gospel of Christ through word and deed
o Demonstrate a life of integrity
o Be active in a local body of believers
Student Positions & Ministry Description.
All Positions
NCM Leadership Team Members Are to Be:
· Committed to grow in a personal walk with Jesus Christ
· Aware of the influence their lifestyle has on others and must be willing to make changes as needed
· Available for the Lord’s use in ministry
· Committed to personal evangelism
· Willing to lead other students to be involved in NCM
· Able to maintain a healthy balance when involved in other campus activities & clubs
· Able to work as a team with other NCM team members
· Supportive of the entire NCM program
· Supportive of NCM Leadership

2. Leader Qualification:
· Born Again Christian
· Student enrolled at Columbia Basin College
· An accumulative GPA of 2.0 or better

3. Commitments:
Meet regularly with NCM Leadership Team and advisors
Be involved with NCM activities (7spot, Lighthouse, Bible study…)
Support other team members in their positions
Attend leadership planning day before the 2006 fall term begins
Attend one scheduled NCM conference during 2006-2007 term (fall or spring)

A) LEADERSHIP TEAM SPECIFIC JOB DESCIPTIONS

1. Team Leader
· To be a spiritual leader who is self-initiated and can manage & oversee the ministries of the Leadership Team and individual NCM ministry teams through encouragement and accountability
· A proven time manager who is organized and able to plan and conduct meetings
· Work with the advisors in establishing Leadership Team goals and objectives and evaluating all NCM activities
· Promote the overall purpose & mission of NCM
· Keep NCM and the college informed of all events
· Representative to ASCBC meetings (meets every Thursday 12:45pm @ CBC)

2. Special Events & Fellowship
· Have a heart for building up others
· Responsible for welcoming visitors at NCM events
· Help coordinate opportunities for fellowship with NCM students
· Help to make sure fellowships and other NCM activities stay Christ Centered and focused
· Responsible for publicizing these events!! (Newsletter, announcements, bulletin boards etc.…)
· Lead Team through leadership meeting agenda when president is unavailable

3. Missions Leader
· Educate and raise student awareness of the needs and opportunities for missions on a local, national, and international level
· Lead students to develop a passion for missions that includes focused prayer for missions
· Help provide opportunities for students to be involved in local ministries and other short term opportunities. (Ex. Thanks for Giving, Union Gospel Mission, Blind Convention, spring break, summer, and semester missions)
· Help in planning NCM mission trips
· Lead the Leadership Team in setting NCM missions goal
· Help orchestrate fundraising efforts to reach the NCM summer missions goal

4. Discipleship Leader
· Have a passion and commitment for helping others to grow more intimate in their relationship with Christ.
· Encourage all students to have a plan for personal and spiritual development
· Organize national prayer events… See You at The Pole, National Day of Prayer and related CBC Activities
· Help implement ways to share prayer needs of CBC students. (Ex. Prayer walks, prayer box…)
· Focus on Bible studies and how they relate to the needs of the campus body
· Help develop a plan for implementing Bible study meetings for CBC students
· Help in the process of finding effective Bible study leaders to whom students will relate
· Take minutes at NCM leadership meeting

5. Worship Leader
· Be called by Christ to lead all NCM students in worship through: song, prayer, and scripture…
· Help NCM student understand what true worship is (It’s not just music)
· Ensure that NCM Worship team’s music and other music performed at NCM events will be appropriate for the theme of worship.
· Help coordinate speakers and plan themes that will benefit students for all NCM worship gatherings
· Responsible for making sure set-up and tear-down takes place at events
· Enlist students for NCM worship team

6. Outreach Leader
Responsible for helping develop ways of ministering to the needs of students at CBC
Help provide opportunities for NCM students to build relationships with other individuals and groups on campus through the Christ-like act of serving
Be involved in planning a variety of training opportunities that allow students to develop and enhance their outreach skills
Help to make sure fellowships and other NCM activities stay Christ Centered and focused
Responsible for activities that serve CBC student body (Ex. pop and candy give-a-ways, popcorn and hot chocolate give-a-ways, Jazz & Coffee House events)
